Commercialization of Cannabis for medicinal purposes authorized in Peru

After eighteen months of the approval of Law No. 3068 and its respective regulations, around fourteen pharmacy chains already have the authorization of DIGEMID (General Directorate of Drugs, Supplies, and Drugs) to distribute, throughout the country, cannabis for medicinal use and its derivatives.

The norm also contemplates the granting of the license for the acquisition of cannabis to the universities and institutions of agricultural and health research strictly for cases of scientific research. Likewise, public entities and laboratories (registered and certified) dedicated to the import, production, or commercialization of medicinal products will be able to accede to authorization.
