United States and Peru sign cooperation agreement on Intellectual Property

OMC Abogados & Consultores is pleased to inform its colleagues and clients that a collaboration agreement has recently been signed between the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

In this agreement, both institutions have committed to organize promotional activities among themselves, for example, training on the evaluation of trademarks and patents, protection of intellectual property, as well as compliance with the law specifically in civil, criminal and administrative matters.

The exchange mode has also been considered as part of this cooperation agreement, in this way both offices are authorized to provide information from their intellectual property systems, as well as their experience and knowledge acquired as official entities in this field.
