The benefits of having a patented invention in Peru

In spite of being an exceptional year, the authorities continue in their work to promote, among the Peruvian inventors, the development of new technologies that contribute to the solution of different challenges that the society faces and that at the same time are properly registered in the System of Patents.

At present, the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property: Indecopi, provides protection to all those inventions that are duly patented. This status guarantees the exclusivity rights of the inventors, especially when the product comes to the Peruvian market with a strictly-commercial purpose generating economic profits.

However, universities, research centers and scientific communities that carry out any project or studies will have free access to the patent because it is considered a valuable source of technical information.
