OMC Abogados & Consultores took part in event of the New York Intellectual Property Lawyer Association

As part of their visit to New York Mr. Oscar Mago and Mr. José Marquis represented the Peruvian firm OMC Abogados & Consultores at the conference “Hot topics in Intellectual Property“ organized by the New York Intellectual Property Lawyer Association: NYIPLA. The conference was held on July 15th at The Union League Club.

The theme of the program was based on the need of lawyers, mainly from New York, to learn more about the legislation on intellectual property outside the United States where they handle many businesses currently. This was shown with some titles as: “Increased scrutiny to trademark applications based on foreigner registration”, “Cyber intrusions and theft of IP/Trade secrets “,“ Recent developments In Copyright Law”.

This attitude was very positive during meetings with the participants. The lawyers of OMC Abogados & Consultores had the opportunity to inform about the proposal for legal assistance on IP that the company provides in Peru and Latin America.

Is worth mentioning that for this last case, the assistance is provided through the Latino IP platform (www.iplatino.com) of which Dr. Oscar Mago is a founding member.
