Directive of INTA: International Trademark Association visited Latin America

From August 13th to 20th the CEO of INTA, Etienne Sanz de Acedo, along with the Director of Foreign Affairs for Latin America, Gabrielle Doyle traveled to Chile, Argentina and Peru to meet with the governmental and legislative authorities of the aforementioned countries.
During the working sessions they proposed solutions to the differences in terms of international legislation on intellectual property and that is applied in the region, for this purpose, validation agreements that allow the development on the field of Intellectual Property in Latin America were established.
In the city of Lima, the last stage of their journey, a training session was organized for the examiners of the Peruvian intellectual property office. Likewise a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI).
As closure of its official activities, on August 19th the delegation of INTA offered an exclusive reception for its Peruvian partners at the Westin hotel; during this meeting they shared with their colleagues their immediate projects based on the results obtained during the tour and how beneficial will be for professionals in Latin America.
In representation of the law firm OMC Abogados & Consultores Mr. José Marquis, lawyer of the Intellectual Property area, was present.
