The law firm OMC Abogados & Consultores attended conference organized by INTA

OMC Abogados & Consultores was one of the law firms invited to participate in the Government Roundtable 2014, an event focused on the subject of Notorious Trademarks which took place on September, 30th in the city of Lima. The event was organized by INTA, International Trademark Association, an international network that brings together professionals involved with trademark registration.

The conference opened with the topic dedicated to implement the registration of notorious trademarks, the talk was given by two specialists from Indecopi who carried out an analysis of the situation, according to the draft law that seeks to regulate the process in Peru.

The second exposure was dedicated to the registration process of nontraditional notorious trademarks; specifically in the case of "tactile trademark" (Touch mark), "sensitive trademark” (Scent mark) and "sound trademark" (Sound mark). Mr. Alejandro Cardenas, one of the invited specialists, commented his experience based on the Mexican model and the results obtained.
