Nike registers its trademark in order to be used in virtual sportswear

The imminent move towards a new type of coexistence within the spaces developed by virtual reality, has aroused the interest of renowned companies worldwide, many of them are joining this new trend and intending to extend their current commercial position into an emerging and virtual market.
This is how, Nike, at the end of October applied to the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for the registration of its Nike and Jordan trademarks, the slogan Just do it and also its Swoosh and Jumpman logos, to be used in downloadable virtual goods and services related to retail and entertainment in the United States of America.
The items included by Nike in the digital goods category are: hats, eyewear, bags, backpacks and sports equipment.
It should be noted that downloadable virtual goods or NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) have the protection of a smart creation contract that does not allow them to be destroyed, eliminated or replicated, in addition to giving them a special value despite being intangible goods. Some of the entities that have opted for them are the NBA, La Liga, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.
