Misleading advertising is severely punished in Peru

The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property, Indecopi, through its Commission for the Supervision of Unfair Competition, has been imposing severe fines that reach up from S / ten thousand to three million soles, or 700 UIT (tax units) to those advertisers who commit the crime of misleading advertising.
An offender in this modality is considered to be any advertisement that is promoted on virtual platforms or traditional media and whose content or benefit cannot be verified by the advertiser during an investigation process, which constitutes an act of deception against the consumers.
