Oscar Mago: <\/strong>Reaching 20 years represents much more than just a number. It is the reflection of a sustained path of effort, learning, and commitment to our clients. Since its foundation, OMC Abogados & Consultores was born with the conviction to offer an excellent legal service, based on professional ethics and closeness with every client. Throughout these two decades, we have consolidated an internal culture focused on continuous training, teamwork, and constant innovation. Every member of the firm understands that individual growth only makes sense if it contributes to collective development. Moving from being a boutique <\/em>firm to one with a global presence requiredus to rethink internal structures, processes, and management standards, without losing the essence that defines us: closenessand personal commitment to every client. Internally, one of the main challenges was maintaining the same quality of service and the direct communication that distinguishes us, even while expanding our teams and practice areas. To achieve this, we reinforced constant training, technological integration, and coordination among our different work units, so that every professional shares the same values and approach. Digitalization has been key in this process. We incorporated technological tools that optimize file management, deadlinetracking, and communication with our clients in real-time. These innovations allow us to maintain the efficiency and Agility typical of a boutique<\/em>firm, but with the structure and scope of an organization with an international presence. Externally, we faced the challenge of competing in an increasingly globalized environment, where clients demand comprehensive solutions and immediate responses. The adaptation to different regulations and business cultures\u2014especially inthe Asian market, where we have a significant presence\u2014has been a constant learning experience that has enriched usprofessionally and humanly. Latin Counsel: What lessons in negotiation and out-of-court settlement do you consider essential for young lawyers in your country? <\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Oscar Mago: <\/strong>I believe these issues are vitally important not only for lawyers, but for anyone, in any area of their professional or personal life. In particular, young lawyers should start by learning and internalizing the four fundamental pillars of effective negotiation: a) Separate the people from the problem; b) Focus on interests, not positions; c) Generate mutually beneficial options; andd) Base decisions on objective criteria.These principles apply not only in professional practice, but in any human interaction that seeks to resolve conflicts in aconstructive and lasting way. As for out-of-court settlement, it is an essential tool that every lawyer should keep in mind as a first step in resolving disputes. It involves an approach focused on the client\u2019s real interests, prioritizing efficient solutions that avoid the emotional, financial, and time-consuming wear and tear of a court case.<\/p>

Latin Counsel: What led you to dedicate yourself to law, and what events or influences marked that decision in your youth?<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Oscar Mago: <\/strong>To be honest, Law was not my first choice. Since I was a child, I dreamed of pursuing a diplomatic career because I was passionate about travel, learning about other cultures, and, of course, politics. However, destiny had other plans. When I was almost finished with my Law degree, I decided to drop everything and leave for Paris to dedicate myself to literature\u2014writing and reading have always been my two great passions. The trip was carefully planned in stages: first, I would go to Miami, where I would stay for a while with a Peruvian friend, aprofessional tennis player, to work and earn some money; then I would travel to Canada to visit my aunt and cousins before finally continuing to Paris. But luckily\u2014I believe now\u2014only the first stage was fulfilled. An accident in Miami forced me to return to Lima, where I finally completed my Law degree. Looking back, that unexpected turn was decisive. It allowed me to understand that Law can also be a form of expression, creation, and service. Through it, I found a different way to fulfil what I had always sought: to understand the human being, connect with different realities, and contribute, from my profession, to generate positive changes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
